INTERNATIONAL ENERGY AGENCY – EFFICIENT DEMAND FLEXIBLE NETWORKED APPLIANCES PLATFORM
The International Energy Agency (IEA) develops policy recommendations on the energy efficiency of various categories of electrical appliances through the 4E Technology Collaboration Program (4E stands for “Energy-Efficient End-use Equipment”).
In addition to Austria, member countries of the 4E and EDNA Annex include Australia, Denmark, France, Japan, Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand, South Korea, Sweden, the European Commission, Switzerland, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
ECODESIGN company represents the Federal Ministry Innovation, Mobility, and Infrastructure Republic of Austria within the framework of the Efficient Demand Flexible Networked Appliances (EDNA) Platform of the International Energy Agency (IEA).
The Efficient Demand Flexible Networked Appliances (EDNA) Platform is an initiative of the 4E Technology Collaboration Program, focusing on the energy efficiency of network-connected devices.
Network-connected devices can be controlled externally either continuously or at regular intervals, enabling efficient energy management. However, this also requires that such devices perform their functions with minimal energy consumption.
EDNA’s broad scope of work covers most types of electronic devices sold worldwide, as well as network technologies used to meet various communication needs between consumers, institutions, and utilities.
