Together with Quality Austria, we are hosting a seminar led by Prof. Wolfgang Wimmer that explores how companies can design their products more efficiently, resource-consciously, and future-ready.

The linear economic model is increasingly reaching its limits: raw materials are becoming scarcer, and emissions are subject to stricter regulations. With the new ESPR (Ecodesign Sustainable Product Regulation), concrete requirements for climate-friendly and circular products are coming into focus. The seminar provides practical insights into how companies can systematically anchor the three C’s – Climate, Circularity, and Criticality – in product development in order to effectively achieve their ESG goals.

Participants gain insights into key topics related to sustainable product development: from analysis to rapid assessment on to improving the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) and identifying strategies for ecodesign measures to developing new business models that enable higher value creation with lower resource consumption, as well as ensuring legal compliance through knowledge of current standards and regulations.

• Basics and classification of ecodesign
• Methods for environmental assessment (PCF)
• Ecodesign strategies and circular product development
• Standards and regulations related to ESG and ecodesign
• Practical tools such as the ECODESIGN+ software for calculating the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)

The seminar is aimed at individuals with product responsibility within companies, including managing directors, product managers, product developers, and system managers for quality and environmental management.
