2024 12th International Conference on Energy Efficiency in Domestic Appliances and Lighting
The paper “New power electronics to reach next level of energy efficiency in equipment – Results from the IEA 4E PECTA platform’s first term” was presented at the 12th International Conference on Energy Efficiency in Domestic Appliances and Lighting (EEDAL 2024), in Kitakyushu (Japan) last October 2024.
The paper discusses the critical role of power electronic conversion technologies in applications from utility-scale renewable electricity generation to appliance and equipment. The focus is on Wide Band Gap (WBG) technology. Dr. Díaz from the ECODESIGN company GmbH is one of the authors participating in the Power Electronic Conversion Technology Platform (PECTA) of the IEA. PECTA aims to promote WBG through global collaboration and policy development. The paper summarizes PECTA´s results, including real efficiency measurements and insights into WBG´s environmental impacts, and offers valuable insights into the potential of WBG technology to improve energy efficiency.
